Dear Friend of IAFS, ANZFSS and forensic science and medicine,
I am honoured to be President of the International Association of Forensic Sciences, 2017-2020, and to be organizing the 22nd Triennial Meeting of IAFS in conjunction with the 25th Symposium of the Australian & New Zealand Forensic Science Society in Sydney in September 2020, together with our partners and sponsors.
The IAFS encompasses academics and practicing professionals in the forensic specialties. Since 1957, the IAFS has delivered an international meeting every three years to allow the forensic community to meet and exchange ideas. It is our pleasure to host IAFS 2020 in the newly revamped International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia. We feel privileged and honoured that many of the world’s leading investigators in the field will actively participate and inspire over 1,500 attendees from across the world.
Your IAFS 2020 organizing committees are working hard to deliver a memorable meeting under the theme “Forensic Science 2020 – Where to from here?”. The program will strategically cover critical issues to identify possible solutions for stronger and more reliable forensic science and medicine in the future. We will reach out across the medical, scientific, legal and policing communities, including those in emerging nations, to share data and information, best practice and expand education and research. Our objective is to ensure IAFS 2020 is the focal point for anyone involved or interested in making the world safer and fairer with science and medicine.
As the organisers of the meeting, we cordially invite you to share with us days of scientific communication in the iconic city of Sydney, Australia. Sydney itself is the unofficial capital of Australia and is perched directly on the spectacular Sydney Harbour. IAFS 2020 attendees will be able to travel by ferry to many of the scenic attractions of Sydney, including Manly Beach, Luna Park and the famous Taronga Zoo with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House a short stroll away.
We encourage you to save the dates in your calendar and register your expression of interest today. This way you can be kept up to date with the latest information and program news. We look forward to welcoming you in Sydney in September 2020!
